My Story

Making up stories and sharing them with others was always encouraged in my family. Whether the form was a poem, a piece of fiction, a dance, a song, or a painting, I was free to explore and express myself in any way I could.

After finishing my undergraduate degree in creative writing and English literature at the University of Victoria, I was unsure how to make my living as a professional writer. After working in as a technical and academic writer/editor, I was hired as a speechwriter for the Province of British Columbia, where I've been working for 15 years.

I believe my arts and writing background, my editing and research skills, and my social media savvy offer Tongue & Pen clients the wide variety of services they need to communicate their message.

I've worked with interesting people and businesses in a wide range of fields that include: video production, visual arts, magazine design and publication, industrial design, agriculture, public service, marketing, academia, and in the non-profit sector.

For me, new clients mean fresh ideas and exciting opportunities to learn what inspires others.
